Holidays in Term Time
Government legislation has removed the ability for schools to authorise leave during term
time unless there are extenuating circumstances. Holidays taken in term time can result in a
fine being issued. From September 2024, the minimum fine will increase to £80 per parent and
in cases where there have been more than two fines issued, this can result in a court
summons. Please note that all fines are issued and payable to the Local Authority, not the
school
